Detoxification

The liver is considered the most metabolically active organ in the body, and is responsible for neutralizing harmful compounds before they are eliminated from the body.  When our body’s detoxification system becomes sluggish, backed up, or compromised in any way, the build up of toxins begins to disrupt normal metabolic processes, which can often turn healing and achieving optimal health into an up hill battle.  The body’s detoxification pathways require specific micronutrients such as vitamins and amino acids and cannot function effectively without them.  Many people’s bodies are both toxic and lacking in these key micronutrients, and so are unable to effectively remove the toxins from the body.  If toxins are not properly eliminated, they can recirculate into the bloodstream and begin to affect many of the body’s functions.
